Capacity for sea transshipment of Russian oil in southern direction could rise by 15 mln tonnes - Tokarev

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Capacity for maritime transshipment of Russian oil in the southern direction could rise by over 15 million tonnes, Transneft president Nikolai Tokarev said on Rossiya 24 TV.

"The task of expanding the transport potential of the southern port is currently being resolved. The port is up to the task," Tokarev added.

Tokarev late last year said that the Novorossiysk seaport had boosted its capacity to export low-sulfur oil to 40 million tonnes, and that the second stage had begun in order to expand the seaport's capacity up to 52 million tonnes. Transneft intends to expand the seaport's throughput capacity in 2025.
