Rostechnadzor suspends coal mining at Kuzbass' Sibirskaya Mine

KEMEROVO. Aug 24 (Interfax) - The Siberian department of Russia's Federal Environmental, Industrial, and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) has suspended coal mining at the longwall of Sibirskaya Mine LLC, part of the Aliot group of companies, Rostechnadzor assistant manager Andrei Vil posted on social media.

Rostechnadzor has suspended mining because of a violation in the excavation support, as well as violations in the explosion safety of the electrical equipment and in the air-gas control system.

Sibirskaya Mine has design capacity of six million tonnes of coal and was commissioned at the end of 2021.

The Aliot group, formerly UglePromInvest, also includes Sibirskaya Enrichment Factory LLC with capacity to process six million tonnes of coal per year. There are plans this year to complete construction of the enrichment factory and launch it.
