Russia's fuel production fully meets domestic demand, accounting for redirection of exports - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Russia's production of petroleum products fully meets the existing demand for fuel, taking into account redirecting some of the gasoline and diesel fuel exports to the domestic market, the Energy Ministry said in a statement.

"The level of production of petroleum products at refineries fully meets the current demand for fuel, taking into account redirecting some of the gasoline and diesel fuel exports to the domestic market, as well as the supply of reserves from oil depots locally upon recommendation of the Energy Ministry and the Federal Anti-monopoly Service. The output of motor gasoline at 117,400 tonnes per day corresponds to the average level of August 2021-2022. Diesel fuel production at 232,000 tonnes per day is nearly 10% higher than in August of previous years," according to the statement.

The Energy Ministry also emphasizes that the ministry's headquarters continues to work on eliminating possible interruptions in supplying fuel to the regions. This comprises representatives of the federal executive authorities, oil companies, JSC Russian Railways, JSC St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX), trucking companies, and independent market participants.

"The headquarters have taken special control of the frequency of fuel supplies to the south and supplying fuel to agro-industrial businesses and gasoline filling station chains. The headquarters are working to increase the frequency and optimize logistics costs for all participants based on continually monitoring production and consumer needs of the participants," according to the statement.
