Ukraine seeks to form Baltic-Black Sea defense alliance - Zelensky
MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has announced plans to establish a security alliance with countries of the Black and Baltic Seas.
"I have been holding discussions. Diplomats have been tasked with preparing a security alliance with NATO's Black Sea littoral countries, so that we have a joint defense of the Black Sea and Azov Sea coasts," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying at a press conference in Kiev on Wednesday.
"I'd even say: of the Azov Sea, the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea space," he said.
Zelensky, however, did not provide other details of his initiative, media outlets said.
