Lukoil announces tender for construction of solar power plant in Kazakhstan

MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - Lukoil-Ecoenergo Kazakhstan LLP has announced a tender for construction of a 5 MW solar power plant (SPP) in Almaty region.

According to the company's documents, construction is planned for 2023-2024.

Bids were accepted until the end of July, and the winner should be determined in August.

Lukoil-Ecoenergo Kazakhstan" (part of Lukoil-Energo LLC) was founded in February this year to generate electricity at solar power plants and other renewable energy facilities in Kazakhstan. The SPP should be built on the vacant territories of Lukoil Lubricants Central Asia LLP, which has built a lubricants plant in Kazakhstan.

The total amount of electricity generated from renewable energy sources (RES) by Lukoil Group organizations in 2022 was 1.071 billion kWh, which is 5% more than in 2021. The installed capacity of the company's generating equipment at 8 SES located in Russia and abroad was 44 MW.
