VTB first deputy chair Puchkov resigns to move to new position

MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - VTB First Deputy Chairman Andrei Puchkov has resigned from the bank in order to move to a new position after having worked at VTB for over 20 years, the bank said in a press release.

Puchkov joined VTB in 2002, holding the position of deputy head and eventually head of the legal department, as well as being a member of the executive board. In 2018, the supervisory board appointed him as first deputy president and chairman of the executive board. Puchkov's responsibilities included working with the group's non-core and distressed assets, as well as handling legal and administrative matters.

VTB President and Board Chairman Andrei Kostin was quoted in the press release as saying that Puchkov was the "nerve center" of many of the group's projects.

According to RBC sources, Puchkov will head the United Shipbuilding Corporation, which the government plans to transfer to VTB trust management for five years. It became known on Tuesday that Kostin and Puchkov had been nominated to the USC supervisory board.
