Kazakh president to take part in BRICS summit online

ASTANA. Aug 23 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will take part in the BRICS summit online, the presidential press service said on Wednesday.

"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will virtually attend a meeting of the Dialogue of the Heads of State in the BRICS Plus format which will be held on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS summit in Johannesburg on August 24, 2023," the press service said.

"At the invitation of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Kazakh president will speak at the meeting as the current chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization," it said.
