Russia liberalizes dividend payments on new investments by nonresidents - Siluanov

MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - A decision has been made to liberalize payment of dividends to nonresidents on investments in Russia made in the new geopolitical realities, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at a meeting of the Council on Strategic Development and National Projects that President Vladimir Putin held on Tuesday.

"A decision was made in August of this year on payment of dividends without restrictions to foreigners who are investing money now in the Russian economy, investing money currently. We're saying that all investments that will be made in the current year and later, by all means, can be taken out in the form of dividends. In the amount of investment made in our economy," Siluanov said.

He did not specify the format of the made decision. General rules of this sort are now set by the sub-committee of the government commission for control over foreign investment chaired by Siluanov. The Finance Ministry has not yet published excerpts from the minutes of the meeting on this issue.
