Ukrainian Agrarian Ministry urges USAID to support biogas projects

MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Nikolai Solsky and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Ukraine Deputy Director Theodora Dell discussed support for Ukraine's processing industries, including biogas producers, Ukrainian media reported citing the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's statement.

"The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the Ukrainian agrarian sector. The minister thanked [USAID] for supporting land reclamation reform helping farmers to actively set up new water user organizations and receive assistance in restoring irrigation systems. They also spoke about the need for additional projects to support the processing industry, including biogas producers," it said.

Solsky called for providing an additional incentive to the development of this promising sector.

Dell said the USAID mission has supported Ukraine from the start of the crisis and will definitely continue to do so.
