NCSP operating normally, no danger of fire at port sites

MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - A fire at a cargo terminal in Novorossiysk did not affect the operation of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port's (NCSP) terminals, NCSP said in a statement.

"There were no fires on the territory of NCSP and companies belonging to the NCSP Group in Novorossiysk. There was no threat to the regular operation of NCSP Group companies," the company said.

As reported, on Friday morning a fire broke out on the territory of the Novorossiysk cargo terminal. The dispatcher of the Novorossiysk fire and rescue garrison received notification regarding wooden pallets catching on fire at the cargo terminal at 09:02 Moscow time. The fire spread over an area of 1,300 square meters and was declared extinguished at 12:21.

The press service for the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, through whose pipeline most of Kazakhstan's oil is transported and reloaded onto tankers in Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka near Novorossiysk, also reported that the terminal is currently operating normally. "Maintenance of cargo systems of all three SPUs has been carried out. As of August 18, 2023, 40.5 million tonnes of oil have been shipped since the beginning of the year, with 370 tankers handled," CPC said.
