Court in St. Petersburg fines Tricolor one mln rubles for screening LGBT movie

ST. PETERSBURG. Aug 18 (Interfax) - A court in St. Petersburg has penalized the National Satellite Company for screening an LGBT movie on Tricolor Cinema and TV Online, the joint press service for St. Petersburg's courts said on Friday.

The Moskovsky District Court in St. Petersburg fined the company one million rubles for disseminating content which demonstrates LGBT relationships and preferences to minors and may encourage them to change gender, the press service said.

According to court materials, the movie was removed from the service in June. It was watched on 122 devices in May.

On Thursday, a magistrate's court in St. Petersburg fined the editor-in-chief of the National Satellite Company 200,000 rubles for screening the movie, which the company was fined for today.
