Kazakhstan set to pump 1.2 mln tonnes of oil to Germany via Druzhba pipeline in 2024

ASTANA. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating plans to pump 1.2 million tonnes of oil through the Druzhba pipeline in 2024, KazTransOil Deputy General Director Amirzhan Ospanov said.

"Based on consignor requests for 2024, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating plans to pump 1.2 million tonnes [of oil] in that direction [the Adamova Zastava post] in 2024," Ospanov said on the day of the KazTransOil issuer at the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) on Friday.

Kazakhstan started to pump oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline in order to diversify supply routes.

Karachaganak Petroleum Operating plans to deliver 100,000 tonnes of oil to Germany this August. According to the Kazakh Energy Ministry, 11,600 tonnes of oil were accepted by the Bolshoi Chagan pumping station between August 3 and 5, 2023, and the rest will be supplied between August 6 and 29.

As of early July, Kazakhstan had supplied 290,000 tonnes of oil to Germany. The quota given by Russia's Transneft to KazTransOil for oil supply to Germany in 2023 stands at 1.2 million tonnes. The first shipment was made in February.
