Ukraine's DTEK Energo reconnects 250 MW thermal power unit to grid after maintenance

MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - The DTEK Energo company has added 250 MW of thermal generation capacity to Ukraine's energy system.

"Our energy system teams finished carrying out routine maintenance of a power unit at one of DTEK Energo's thermal power plants. As a result, 250 MW of capacity was added to the Ukrainian energy system," Ukrainian media outlets quoted the company as saying on social media.

As reported, the Ukrenergo power grid operator once again resorted to emergency electricity imports from Romania in an amount of 1,200 MWh due to record high electricity consumption this summer, between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on August 16.

Electricity consumption in Ukraine hit a new summer all-time high at 9 p.m. on August 16, 0.4% higher than the previous maximum level recorded on July 19, Ukrenergo said.
