Ukraine hoping for WTO support in restoring agricultural exports - PM

MOSCOW Aug 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine is counting on the support of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to restore its agricultural exports, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"Ukraine is counting on WTO support in restoring Ukraine's agricultural exports. I emphasized this during my meeting with WTO director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who visited Kiev," Shmygal was quoted by Ukrainian media as saying on social media.

He thanked the WTO for its political support and "help with overcoming challenges."

For her part, the WTO chief noted the importance of re-opening the grain corridor and praised Ukraine's program for small and medium-sized businesses, which helps create jobs in Ukraine.
