Ukraine won't fully implement all European Commission recommendations by Oct - deputy PM

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine will not fully comply with all the seven recommendations of the European Commission (EC) by October, but will ensure the implementation of all of the agreed legislative and institutional steps, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina said.

"We will not learn in October that we have implemented all of the seven recommendations 100%, because we are talking about the fundamental transformations in the country, which are related to human rights, the process of de-oligarchization, which has also become one of the pillars of fundamental democratic reforms [...]. These are changes that will be introduced for years," Ukrainian media quoted Stefanishina as saying at the event titled "What Ukraine's path to the EU looks like" in Kiev on Thursday.

Ukraine will ensure the resumption of electronic declarations by October, according to the EC's recommendation, she said. "This is a very important recommendation. We definitely have time for this. Moreover, the relevant bill has already been adopted in the parliament in the first reading," she said.

Ukraine will ensure the implementation of all of the agreed legislative and institutional steps by October, Stefanishina said.

"And let's hope that we will open the doors for a political solution," she said.
