Ukraine's DTEK boosts electricity output

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - DTEK increased electricity production 26% in May-July 2023 compared to the same period last year, Ukrainian media reported, citing the energy holding's press release.

"DTEK Energy has been working at an increased load over the past three months, largely due to the hot weather. The company supplied 26% more electricity to the Ukrainian energy system in May-July this year than in the same period last year," the press release says.

DTEK Energy said it continued to support the Ukrainian energy system with its switching capacity amid the maintenance and repair campaign and preparations for the upcoming heating season.

The company's thermal power plants produced about 8.4 billion kWh of electricity in January-July this year, enough to supply 2.8 million families for a whole year.

DTEK Energy is an integrated coal and power generating company, with 13.3 GW of thermal generating capacity as of January 2022. Its coal division mines and processes coal, and produces and services mining equipment.
