Russian PM Mishustin instructs that program be prepared for production and overhaul of locomotive fleet by 2030

MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport and Russian Railways to prepare a program for the production and overhaul of traction rolling stock until 2030 by September 15.

A list of instructions following the results of a working trip to the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts was published on the government website.

One of the main goals of the program is the long-term and sustainable development of transport engineering enterprises, which will conclude long-term contracts with the railways, the site says.

In addition, Russian Railways, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport must also prepare and approve methodological recommendations for setting prices for products and services provided by transport-related machine building enterprises by September 15, 2023.
