Azerbaijan external debt decreases 1.7% in H1

BAKU. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's external debt is estimated at $6.577 billion as of July 1 2023, which is 1.7% less than at the end of 2022.

The external debt as of July 1 of this year is equal to 10% of the projected GDP for 2023, the Finance Ministry said.

The external debt consists of 49.4% in funds with a maturity of up to five years, 42.6% for a period of five to 10 years and 8% for a period of over 10 years.

As previously reported, by the end of 2023, Azerbaijan's external debt will amount to $6.381 billion, the Finance Ministry said.
