Turkmenistan ready for implementation of Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline Project - Turkmen Foreign Ministry

ASHGABAT. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan is ready to continue interaction with European partners on the implementation of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline Project, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow said.

"In the energy sphere, Turkmenistan, being committed to the strategy of diversification of energy flows, expresses readiness to continue interaction with the European partners on the implementation of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline Project," Meredow said in a speech published on the site of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The idea to build the gas pipeline, initiated by Turkmenistan, was initially considered by Ashgabat as "not just an economically and commercially substantiated project, but also as a key condition for ensuring global energy security and stability based on equal regard for the interests and profits of producers, consumers and transiters of energy resources," he said.
