Ukraine to help flood-stricken Slovenia - Zelensky

MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky has issued an edict to provide Slovenia with humanitarian aid.

"Ukraine is providing humanitarian aid to Slovenia in relation to severe floods. I signed the relevant edict yesterday. We are helping our friends... Solidarity works both ways," Zelensky's social media post was quoted by the Ukrainian media on Friday.

The Ukrainian government has instructed the State Emergency Service to send a disaster rescue team to assist with the response effort, the Ukrainian media reported.

The Foreign Ministry has been instructed to liaise with relevant Slovenian authorities to arrange for the team's accommodation.

The Economy Ministry has been instructed to work out reimbursement of expenses related to the provision of the aid with the Finance Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the State Emergency Service.
