Ukraine's 125 MW TPP power unit put into operation - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - A 125 MW power unit at one of Ukraine's thermal power plants has been put into operation after repairs, Ukrainian media reported citing the Energy Ministry.

"A power unit, which was earlier shut down due to damage, has been put into operation at one of the thermal power plants. It added 125 MW of power to the energy system," the Energy Ministry said on Thursday.

It is also reported that 14 communities in the Sumy and Chernigov regions are cut off from electricity due to inclement weather. Twelve communities were reconnected to the power supply in the Sumy region over the past day, restoration work is ongoing.

"There are 1,800 consumers left without electricity in the Poltava region due to technological disconnection, in particular, the hospital in the city of Lubny was cut off from electricity," the Energy Ministry added.

Some consumers in Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Sumy, Chernigov and a number of other Ukrainian regions remain without power supply.

Commercial imports of electricity amounted to 4,551 MWh over the past 24 hours, while there were no exports, the ministry said.
