Temporary routes designated to allow trade ships' passage in and out of Ukrainian ports

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Temporary corridors have been opened for trade vessels heading to or from Ukraine's Black Sea ports, Ukrainian media said, citing the country's Navy.

An executive order designating such temporary passages was signed on August 8, the Navy said. The military threat and mine danger persist throughout all of these routes, it said.

These corridors were earlier proposed by Ukraine in its appeal to the International Maritime Organization.

"These routes will primarily be used to facilitate the possible exit of civilian ships stranded at Ukraine's Chernomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny ports since February 24, 2022. Vessels will be admitted into these routes if their owners/captains officially confirm their readiness to navigate waters in the present conditions," the Navy said.

The last vessel carrying Ukrainian food exports left the Odessa port on July 16, it said.
