Ukrainian FM says China not supplying weapons to Russia, hopes Erdogan will resume grain deal

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine is unaware of Chinese weapons supplies to Russia, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said.

"We have never seen any deliveries of Chinese weapons to Russia. And let's hope that this will not change. We know about some Chinese enterprises exporting components used by the Russian military industry, but this is not a mass flow. We are sharing this information with the Chinese government, hoping that it will take measures," Ukrainian media quoted Kuleba as saying in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera.

Kuleba stressed the importance of China's presence at the meeting of advisors to the heads of state and government in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on August 5-6.

"We do not expect drastic changes from the Chinese side. And we understand the special relationship between Moscow and Beijing. This requires very delicate diplomacy to ensure that China remains on the side of peace and territorial integrity of Ukraine," Kuleba said.

Speaking about the Black Sea Grain Initiative, he said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is capable of reviving it.

"I think he [Erdogan] can. We know that Turkish diplomacy is working with the Russian one. At the same time, we are building alternative ways to export wheat and other products bypassing the Black Sea," Kuleba said.
