Zelensky hopes Pope will visit Ukraine
MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said he is hopeful that Pope Francis will visit Ukraine.
"We've invited Pope Francis, I've personally invited him to Ukraine," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying in an interview with Latin American media outlets published on Tuesday.
"I very much wanted him to come. To any Ukrainian city, by the way, not necessarily the capital, but wherever he can. We are willing to welcome the pope in western Ukraine. And I also told him about that. This is an important message of support. And it seems to me, it would be very powerful for Ukrainian society," Zelensky said.
