Russia and S. Korea to integrate veterinary information systems in November - Rosselkhoznadzor

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Rosselkhoznadzor and the Ministry of Food and Drug Security of the Republic of Korea have agreed to complete work on the integration of their information systems in the field of veterinary medicine in November 2023, the Russian agency said.

The Korean side submitted the structure and formats of electronic veterinary certificates used in the country for approval. In the near future, additional consultations are planned to discuss further steps to integrate information systems.

"The introduction of electronic veterinary certification will significantly reduce the time for conducting out control and surveillance activities, improve product quality control, and also create a more transparent and trustworthy trading environment between states," the report says.

The Republic of Korea is a major buyer of Russian fish. Rosselkhoznadzor estimates that shipments from Russia total nearly 600,000 tonnes per year.
