Kyrgyzstan imposes six-month ban on exports of ferrous metal scrap and waste
BISHKEK. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The government of Kyrgyzstan has imposed a temporary ban for six months on the export of scrap and waste, as well as ingots from ferrous metals for remelting, the press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers reported.
"By decree of the government, a temporary ban for a period of six months is established on the export from Kyrgyzstan of the scrap and waste of ferrous metals, and ferrous metal ingots for remelting (charge ingots), classified by code 7204 of the TN VED of the EAEU," the press report says.
The resolution was adopted on August 4 in order to implement the order from the President of Kyrgyzstan. It takes effect after seven working days, the press service said.
The Kyrgyz Economy and Commerce Ministry is instructed to notify the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission of the introduction of this temporary ban, the document says. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan was also instructed to notify the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States about the introduction of the ban.
