India expects all G20 leaders to attend summit in Delhi - External Affairs Ministry

NEW DELHI. Aug 3 (Interfax) - India expects that all leaders of the Group of 20 countries, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, will be able to personally attend the upcoming G20 summit, Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.

"We have extended invitations to all the leaders, the invitee countries. For the moment we would hope all invitees are able to participate in person in the next month summit," Bagchi said when asked by a journalist whether Putin would arrive to participate.

He pointed out, however, that questions as to whether a particular country leader is planning to attend the summit should be addressed to the relevant country directly.

The G20 summit in Delhi is scheduled for September 9-10.
