Rosteslmash intends to begin production at new tractor plant in Rostov-on-Don in Q4

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The launch of production at the Rostselmash tractor plant under construction in Rostov-on-Don is scheduled for Q4 2023, according to the plant's official website.

Testing of the full technological cycle is planned for November, including welding, painting and assembly. In pilot mode, the enterprise will test its readiness to operate at its full design capacity of up to 15-18 tractors per shift.

According to the plant's press service, the main facilities of the future enterprise are in varying degrees of readiness with a delivery date of September-November 2023.

"In particular, the installation of the small painting line, the main assembly conveyor has started, the testing area is being organized, lifting mechanisms are being installed over the entire production site. In September, the assembly conveyor for classic frame tractors, the central product distribution warehouse and the railroad leading to it will be handed over," the statement said.

In parallel with construction work, the company's warehouses continue to receive equipment. For example, the first batch of high-precision numerically controlled machine tools is expected in September; the last of them will arrive in November.

Simultaneously with the organization of workshops, the construction of a showroom and landscaping of the territory has begun.

As reported, Rostselmash earlier postponed the commissioning of the tractor plant in Rostov-on-Don to the end of 2023. Total investment under this project is more than 10 billion rubles, with about 1,200 jobs to be created.

Rostselmash is implementing a large-scale investment program, including the creation of three production facilities: a new tractor production and transmission plant in Rostov-on-Don, as well as production of agricultural and municipal machinery in Taganrog.
