Shmygal, G7 and EU ambassadors discuss recovery and reforms in Ukraine

MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal discussed key issues and reforms meant to make Ukraine stronger at a meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 and EU member countries on Tuesday.

"As for restoration, we count on further assistance in fulfilling the fast-recovery priorities: the restoration of housing, the energy sector and critical and social infrastructure, humanitarian mine clearance, and support for business," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Shmygal as saying in a social media post after the meeting.

Preparations for the next heating season were also discussed, the prime minister said. Ukraine continues to repair its energy facilities and strengthen their protection, he said, thanking partners for their significance assistance last winter.

Another topic on the meeting's agenda was the future of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

"We count on partners' solidarity in the issue of Ukrainian grain exports across the western border," Shmygal said.
