Construction of Ruschemalliance gas liquefaction plant in Ust-Luga postponed two years - Leningrad Region Governor

ST. PETERSBURG. Aug 1 (Interfax) - The construction of a gas processing and liquefaction plant in Ust-Luga, a joint venture between Gazprom and Rusgazdobycha - Ruschemalliance, is being postponed by two years, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said at a press conference.

"The project is being implemented; this is the most important thing. There has not been a single day when the facility stood idle. Yes, Linde did not act like a partner, and it is clear that was not what they wanted. [...] Lawsuits are now ongoing, and you know there are losses and damages. [...] Today, the investors are actively working in other markets to replace technologies, and this is working. According to my information, I cannot disclose all the details, new partners have appeared, who ensured that certain critical technology bottlenecks were delivered that were needed after Linde's departure," he said.

"And the project will be implemented. The only thing is, the project implementation period has shifted to the right. The shift is said to be two years. This is normal in the conditions that we find ourselves in; this shift is absolutely normal," Drozdenko said.
