Wildberries, largest electronic marketplace in Russia, enters Azerbaijani market

BAKU. Aug 1 (Interfax) - The Wildberries international online platform is expanding its geography to the Azerbaijani market.

Azerbaijan is now the eighth country where Wildberries is present; the market has high potential for the development of e-commerce as far as logistics and entrepreneurial business development are concerned, and in general, for growing the trade turnover of Russia, Azerbaijan and the countries of Central Asia, the company said in a press release.

In the future, small and medium-sized businesses, commercial enterprises and manufacturers, as well as individual entrepreneurs and the self-employed, will be able to sell their products in partnership with the online platform in all countries where Wildberries is present, the release says.

Residents of Azerbaijan already have access to a wide range of products on the platform, with more than 5 million SKUs of goods: clothing and footwear, accessories, cosmetics, children's products, appliances and electronics, household goods, groceries, digital goods and much more.

The first pickup point in Baku is already open.

Wildberries, the largest electronic marketplace in Russia, almost doubled its revenue from the sales of goods and services (GMV) to 1.67 trillion rubles in 2022. The total area of all company logistics centers in the countries where it operates was nearly 2.8 million sq. m. at the end of March 2023.

The Wildberries range includes both Russian and foreign brands: clothing and footwear, accessories, beauty products, children's products, appliances and electronics, household goods, jewelry, food, books, and digital goods.
