Tariffs to transit oil via Ukraine rise nearly 25% for second time

MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Tariffs to transit oil through the territory of Ukraine have risen 23.5% as of August 1, according to data on the Transneft website.

The Transneft data indicate that the latest tariffs via the Druzhba oil pipeline toward Slovakia and Hungary, under the agreement with JSC Ukrtransnafta, are 21 euros per tonne compared to 17 euros per tonne.

The previous terms and conditions had been valid from June 1, 2023, when they increased 25%. Tariffs rose 18.3% on January 1, 2023.

During an interview with Rossiya 24 TV at the end of last year, Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev said that oil supplies in this direction in 2023 were expected to be at the level of 2022. "The southern branch of Druzhba, which transports oil through the territory of Ukraine to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, remains at the same volumes, since exceptions have been made for them, and they will consume the volumes that they have consumed at about 12 million tonnes," Tokarev specified.
