UK imposes sanctions against 6 Russian citizens

LONDON. July 31 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom has included in its sanctions lists six Russian citizens, including prosecutors of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the British authorities said in a document released on Monday.

Sanctions have been imposed on prosecutors Boris Loktionov and Anna Potychko, judges Vitaly Belitsky, Yekaterina Dorokhina and Natalia Dudar, and expert Danila Mikheyev.

According to the UK, all these individuals are involved in the legal proceedings against opposition activist and journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza, recognized as a foreign agent in Russia.

It was reported earlier on Monday that the First Court of Appeals of General Jurisdiction had upheld the sentence handed down to Kara-Murza, who was sentenced to 25 years in a penal colony for high treason, cooperating with an unwelcome organization and disseminating fakes about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces.

The court thus declined the appeals filed by Kara-Murza and his defense lawyers against the sentence, which has taken legal effect and is subject to enforcement.
