Eastern Economic Forum to highlight progress made towards cooperation, peace, prosperity

VLADIVOSTOK. July 31 (Interfax) - Progress made towards cooperation, peace and prosperity will be the central theme of the Eastern Economic Forum due to take place in Vladivostok on September 10-13, the Roscongress Foundation's press service said.

The 2023 business program will be divided into six blocks, titled International Cooperation in a Changed World; Logistics of Change; the Far East in Ten Years: What Has Been Accomplished and What Needs to be Done; Technological Development as a Guarantee of Sovereignty; the Far East of the Future, and Education and Upbringing as a Foundation of Independence.

The first block will address a new political and economic model for the world, instruments for Russian economic development under sanctions, safe capital movement, and new formats of interaction with foreign companies. It will highlight the development of Russian island territories.

The Logistics of Change block will focus on river and sea transportation and the development of the Northern Sea Route and Eastern Polygon.

The third block will sum up the results of the past decade and discuss the developmental instruments of the Far East. Everything done during this period of time would be reviewed. It will analyze the activity of rivals in neighboring countries, including in terms of attracting investment, the press service quoted Russian Deputy Prime Minister, presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev as saying.

The Technological Development as a Guarantee of Sovereignty block will analyze the development and implementation of AI-based technologies and production in Russia, the implementation of agricultural, bio and other advanced technologies, and the development of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Far East of the Future block will address the modernization of the urban economy, a better quality of life in the Far East, eco-friendly transportation, the development of the construction industry, and the construction of rental homes.

The Education and Upbringing as a Foundation of Independence block will focus on the development of higher education, intensifying patriotic upbringing, and military and sports training for the young. It will present the results of the Muravyov-Amursky 2030 program aimed at training highly skilled managers.

In addition to the business program, there will be a sports and cultural program for the guests and participants of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The Far Eastern Street exhibition will be held on the embankment of the Ayaks Bay on Russky Island for the duration of the forum. Visitors can go to 11 pavilions dedicated to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
