Ukrainian Border Service updates border crossing statistics

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - The number of people who entered Ukraine was about 21,000 more than the number of those who departed the country during the fourth week of July, while this difference was about 10,000 a week before, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the State Border Service's social media post.

The number of people who departed Ukraine in this period decreased to 348,000 from 349,000, and the number of those entering Ukraine increased again to 369,000 from 359,000, the service said.

The number of vehicles that crossed Ukraine's western borders in this period grew to 140,000 from 136,000 and the number of vehicles cleared to carry humanitarian aid increased to 788 from 758.

According to the United Nations Refugee Agency's data as of July 26, the number of Ukrainian refugees across the world was estimated at 6.218 million, including 5.861 million in Europe, having declined by about 3,000 and 7,000 respectively over the previous week.

Inside Ukraine, there were 5.088 internally displaced people as of the end of May, according to the UN.
