Russia mulling participation in railroad projects in Ghana

ST. PETERSBURG. July 28 (Interfax) - Russian Railways International, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and Ghana's Ministry of Railways Development have signed a memorandum of understanding.

The parties signed the document on Friday on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa forum, an Interfax correspondent reported from the signing ceremony.

According to Russian Railways, the memorandum confirms the mutual readiness and interest of the parties in cooperation towards joint implementation of railway projects in Ghana, as well as their intention to work out formats for the participation of the Russian company in work related to the design and construction of turnkey facilities, including the supply of necessary materials and equipment, as well as traction and rolling stock.

At the same time, Russian Railways International is ready to offer its Ghanaian colleagues the creation of a unified dispatch center for transportation management, training of specialists, and supplies of railway construction equipment for infrastructure maintenance.
