Russian State Duma spring session over

MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax) - The last meeting in the spring session was held in the State Duma on Wednesday.

"Five hundred laws were passed in the spring session," State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said in his speech before the session ended.

Twenty-seven percent of the 500 bills, 136, were socially-oriented, he said. Besides, 334 bills, or 68% of all passed bills, are directly effective, he said.

Next week, lawmakers will be working in the regions, he said. Parliamentarians will not stop their main work with regard for election campaigns even on vacation.

The first meeting of the fall session is scheduled for September 19.
