China's Hisense mulls localizing appliance production in St. Petersburg - city hall

ST. PETERSBURG. July 26 (Interfax) - Chinese electronics and appliance maker Hisense is considering localizing production in St. Petersburg, the city's deputy governor, Kirill Polyakov said on his Telegram channel.

"Hisense is considering investing in the economy of Petersburg and is selecting a site for future production. We are interested in cooperation and are prepared to provide comprehensive assistance to partners," Polyakov said.

Hisense, founded in 1969, manufacturers televisions, large home appliances, smartphones, split systems and inverter air conditioners. The company exports its products to more than 160 countries and owns 29 industrial parks located in the Chinese cities of Qingdao, Shunde and Huzhou, as well as in South Africa, the Czech Republic, Mexico and other countries.
