Mishustin believes sanctions-pressured Russia needs to create new logistics corridors to East

ULAN-UDE. July 25 (Interfax) - Without seriously pivoting to the East and creating new logistics corridors in the face of unprecedented sanctions pressure, it would be difficult for Russia to fulfill the tasks facing the country, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a conversation with employees at the Ulan-Ude Locomotive Car Repair Plant.

"Today, without, let us say, a serious pivot to the East, without creating new logistics corridors, it would be very difficult. Of course, expanding the carrying capacity is a very important task," Mishustin said during the conversation.

The prime minister thanked the plant's employees for their work.

"Specifically here at this plant, among other matters, you are involved in assisting the country to fulfill all the tasks that it faces, especially in the face of such unprecedented sanctions pressure, and, accordingly, to fulfill the national development goals," Mishustin said.
