Rivneazot, Group DF complete modernization, resume production of ammonia, ammonium nitrate

MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - PJSC Rivneazot, which is part of the nitrogen business of Ostchem from Group DF, following modernization launched operation of the ammonia and ammonium nitrate workshops with capacity of 1,350 tonnes per day and 1,560 tonnes per day, respectively, Ukrainian media reported, citing the press service of Group DF.

"The launch of production took place without any failures, and in accordance with the production plan. We are waiting for an active autumn season," Rivneazot Executive Board Chairman Mikhail Zabluda was quoted as saying in a statement.

According to the official publication, the restoration of the operation of key shops was preceded by a large-scale modernization of the main equipment in the Ammonia-2 shop, which included overhauling of syngas preparation units No. 1, and ammonia synthesis No. 1 and No. 2. Equipment was replaced with more efficient equipment, and work was carried out on anti-corrosion protection of the natural gas conversion reactor.

"Large-scale reconstruction of the main equipment was also carried out in the ammonium nitrate shop, one of Rivneazot's main production shops. The pipes in the evaporator apparatus (721 units) were completely replaced in the shop, the nitric acid heater was repaired, and the conveyor equipment was restored," the press service notes.

According to the company, energy efficiency, production safety, equipment reliability, and stability indicators have also been significantly improved.

Ostchem is a nitrogen holding of Group DF, uniting the largest producers of mineral fertilizers in Ukraine.

Group DF consolidates assets in the gas distribution, chemical, titanium, and port industries, as well as in agriculture and media. The founder and owner of the group is Ukrainian entrepreneur Dmitry Firtash.
