SOCAR, PLL sign agreement on LNG supplies to Pakistan - media

BAKU. July 24 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) on Monday signed a framework agreement on LNG supplies to Pakistan in Lahore, Pakistani media reported.

The media note that the document was signed in the presence of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to media reports, the agreement is valid for one year with the possibility of extension for the same period. In accordance with the document, Pakistan obtains the opportunity to buy LNG from the Azerbaijani side every month at a reduced price.

The media did not specify the volume of supplies.

As previously reported in the office of the prime minister of Pakistan, an agreement on the start of LNG supplies to Pakistan was reached during Sharif's visit to Azerbaijan on June 14-15.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) under the government of Pakistan in June approved the conclusion of a framework agreement on the purchase of LNG between PLL and the SOCAR.
