Booking.com suspends lodging reservations in areas of Kherson, Zaporozhye regions controlled by Kiev

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - The Booking.com online lodging reservations service has suspended its operations in the areas of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions controlled by Kiev, Ukrainian media outlets said citing a letter sent by Booking.com to its partners on Wednesday.

"We are currently experiencing such great operational difficulties in your region that we cannot continue our operations in it. This is why we have made a difficult decision to suspend providing services of Booking.com in [the areas controlled by Kiev in] the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions," the letter said.

As reported, Booking.com left the Russian and Belarusian markets upon the beginning of the crisis and cancelled the 15-percent service fee for its Ukrainian partner hotels.

The Booking.com website is a subsidiary of the Booking Holdings company. As of December 31, 2022, Booking.com offered lodging reservation services for approximately 2.7 million properties, including 400,000 hotels, motels and resorts, and 2.3 million of houses and apartments in more than 220 countries.
