Russian cosmonauts test new-generation communications device on ISS
MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin and Andrei Fedyayev, who are working on the International Space Station (ISS), have tested new equipment for the high-speed transmission of information, Russia's Roscosmos space corporation said on Friday.
"The new Russian RSPI-M radio-technical system for high-speed information transmission was tested," Roscosmos said in a report about work on the ISS on July 20.
On June 22, Prokopyev and Petelin installed and connected the new RSPI-M equipment, which will be used for high-speed transmission of information from the ISS Russian segment to Earth, during a spacewalk.
