Russia's restrictive measures on foreign trade extended until end of 2025 - presidential decree

MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - The restrictive measures on foreign trade, as implemented under the presidential decree of March 8, 2022, "in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation and the uninterrupted operations of industry", have been extended for two years until December 31, 2025.

The corresponding amendment has been implemented as per the decree of President Vladimir Putin from July 20, 2023. The text of the document has been posted on the official portal of legal acts.

The original text of the document stipulated that the special measures would expire on December 31, 2023.

The extended items in last year's decree stipulate a ban or restriction on exporting from the Russian Federation and/or importing to its territory products and raw materials according to the lists set by the government, as well as stipulate setting increased rates on export/import duties.

Exercising its mandate granted by the decree, the government has banned the export to unfriendly countries of unprocessed timber, waste and scrap of tungsten, alloy steel, corrosion-resistant steel with a nickel content of 8%, and a whole list of dual-use goods. The export of certain types of technological, telecommunications, medical equipment, turbines, machine tools, vehicles including railcars, locomotives, and containers, agricultural machinery, electrical equipment and others is also prohibited or restricted.
