Russia triples highest permitted volume of bitumen exports to Kazakhstan to 300,000 tonnes/year

MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - The energy ministries of Russia and Kazakhstan have signed a protocol, according to which the highest permitted volume of oil bitumen exports from Russia to Kazakhstan has tripled to 300,000 tonnes per year, Russia's Energy Ministry said in a statement.

According to the Russian ministry, the parties signed the document during a meeting between Russian First Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin and Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov, who discussed "pertinent issues on cooperating in the oil sector".

Kazakhstan has a ban on exporting a number of petroleum products until the end of 2024, including oil bitumen.
