Russian producer prices unchanged in June after rising 3.7% in May - Rosstat
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Producer prices in Russia were unchanged in June compared with May, the State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Producer price growth accelerated to 3.7% in May from 2.4% in April. Producer prices rose 2.6% in March and 0.9% in February. They fell 0.9% in January 2023.
Prices fell 0.8% in December, 0.4% in November, 2.5% in October, 0.8% in September, 1.0% in August, 2.2% in July, 4.1% in June and 6.9% in May.
Analysts told Interfax in a consensus forecast at the beginning of July that they thought producer prices had risen 1.1% in June.
Producer prices in June 2023 were level with the same month of last year. They decreased 3.6% year-on-year in May but fell 12.7% in April, 10.7% in March, 7.5% in February and 4.6% in January 2023.
Producer prices in mineral extraction fell 3.3% month-on-month and 3.9% year-on-year in June 2023. Prices in manufacturing rose 1.0% month-on-month and fell 0.9% year-on-year. Prices rose 0.6% month-on-month and rose 16.0% year-on-year in the supply of electricity, gas and steam and air conditioning.
