Chechen Republic's agriculture minister appointed CEO of Danone in Russia

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Yakub Zakriyev, deputy chairman of the Chechen Republic's government, has been appointed CEO of JSC Danone Russia, according to data in the Unified State Registry of Legal Entities (USRLE).

Zakriyev is the republic's agriculture minister.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on July 16 regarding the transfer of Danone's Russian business, JSC Danone Russia, to temporary management. The Federal Property Management Agency (Rosimuschestvo) received 100% of Danone's Russian business, namely 83,292,493,000 shares of Produits Laitiers Frais Est Europe and 85,000 shares of Danone Trade.

France's Danone said last October that it would transfer control of its dairy products production business in Russia. Media reported that there were many bidders to purchase the business, including major Russian food producers, such as Rusagro Group , Cherkizovo Group , Chernogolovka Group, EkoNiva Group, Rumelko, Tkachev Agrocomplex and AFK Sistema , which owns the Steppe agricultural holding.
