Naftogaz takes over three more regional gas utilities

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - The Naftogaz Group has taken over three more regional gas utilities, namely Sumygaz, Vinnitsagaz and Dnepropetrovskgaz, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Gas Networks management company website on Tuesday.

"The Naftogaz Group has created a sustainable gas distribution system model for the country's energy security and is expanding it step by step," the statement said.

The press service said the Kropivnitsky, Dneprovsky and Kharkov branches had already been launched under the state's auspices. They provide undisrupted gas distribution services to 1.2 million families, industrial and public sector institutions.

Transformation is ongoing at enterprises in Kharkov and Krivoi Rog, and at the Kiev, Zhitomir and Lvov regional gas companies.

A court transferred seized corporate rights to 26 regional and city gas distribution system operators to the National Agency for Recovery and Management of Assets at the end of May 2022, following a request by the State Bureau of Investigation.

Naftogaz registered LLC Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine or Gas Networks, the main business of which is the distribution of gas through local pipelines, on September 2, 2022.

The government 2022 handed over state gas distribution networks to Gas Networks with a resolution dated November 25, 2022.
