Zelensky thanks Sweden for financial contribution to Ukraine's recovery

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has thanked the prime minister and the government of Sweden for approving a 2023-2027 strategy for Ukraine's recovery totaling 522 million euros.

"Infrastructure, green development, entrepreneurship, demining and support for democracy are key areas of our recovery. Thank you, Sweden, for your true solidarity," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Zelensky as saying on social media.

As reported, the Swedish government approved a new strategy for Sweden's recovery and reform cooperation with Ukraine for 2023-2027. The strategy will provide a total of SEK 6 billion (approximately $584 million) and is Sweden's largest-ever bilateral development assistance strategy.

Focusing on both recovery and reform, the strategy will contribute to Ukraine's EU integration and strengthen its freedom, resilience and economic prosperity.

The strategy includes areas where Sweden is at the forefront, such as the green transition, social issues and digital transformation.
