UNDP and Canada provide 16 specially equipped vehicles to address Ukraine's recovery needs

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine, in partnership with the government of Canada, handed over 16 specially equipped vehicles to promptly address the recovery and reconstruction needs in the Nikolayev, Sumy, Kharkov and Chernigov regions of Ukraine.

These vehicles will enhance the capacity of local and regional services to address communities' needs, Ukrainian media said, citing the UNDP press office in Ukraine.

The vehicles were procured and equipped by UNDP in Ukraine under the United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Program, with financial support from the Canadian government. Eleven international partners support the program: the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, and the governments of Canada, Denmark, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland.
